Meet The Author

Lisa grew up on a hog farm in southern Minnesota.  After high school she attended college and majored in applied psychology. She later went to school for nursing, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, a minor in psychology and certification in public health. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years, and has worked in acute care and long-term care settings as well as homecare. She was formerly a director of nursing in homecare and for an Adult Day Stay program. She has also worked as a licensed School Nurse for two years and during that time Lisa developed and implemented two community based grant programs; one was Books 4 Babies, the other was a public health maternal child program for new moms/dads and their newborn.  During this time she also worked as a Clinical Nursing instructor for a Registered Nursing college program. Lisa then started her own homecare business that specialized in working with psychiatric patients.

Lisa has been a leader from an early age and has developed her leadership expertise through training and experience. She has served on professional boards and as a Region Chair for the Minnesota Homecare Association. Some of her specialized training includes; Leadership Training Series, Interpersonal Communication Skills, Disease Management Training, Community Assessment and numerous healthcare trainings. She is a skilled speaker and has given professional presentations on numerous topics such as, Tele-Health, Cardiac Health, Mental Health Nursing, and Disease Management.
